Why the Obama Candidacy?

Obama is black. No black person has ever gotten close to a major-party nomination. He's young and inexperienced. He is, really, just one step removed from being a state legislator. And, on top of that, Hillary Clinton was all but crowned the Democratic nominee for president from the get.

There is no way Obama could have ever envisioned being in this position when he first signed on to run. Yet here he sits, on the verge of nomination.

Obama's tax returns have been released. He and his wife showed $4.2 million in income last year. Over 90 percent of that money came from book sales.

Could it be that Obama put himself out as a presidential candidate just so his books would sell and he'd make a lot of bucks, then lightening struck?

Oh yeah, it could be.
