Ma Bell Throws Her Hat in the Ring

Sally Bell---of now-defunct Bell's Amusement Park fame---has announced she will run for the Tulsa County Commission seat currently held by the amusement park's chief executioner, Randi Miller.

Good for Sally. I think she may have had me at "I'm running."

If Tulsa County owes anything to anybody, I'd say it's the Bell family. In as much as somebody will be drawing taxpayer-provided pay for sitting on the commission, I can't think of anyone more deserving than a Bell.

Beyond that, based on what I know to this point, Sally is the best choice in the race.

I mean Randi Miller? Puh-lease! I wouldn't vote for her for dog catcher.

Karen Keith is running as a Democrat. She seems like a nice enough lady. But then, I still remember her serving as Bill LaFortune's right hand, shaking her pompoms for Vision 2025. Keith is a tax monger. And I think we have enough tax mongers holding office already.

I don't make a habit of endorsing political candidates. As a rule, I think they all suck. But, in this case, barring anything weird happening between now and election day that might change my mind, you've got my vote, Sally.
