Note to CBS: Fire Katie Couric---Now
Katie "The Tart" Couric should be fired immediately. She is clearly biased---and that bias shows on what is presented as a newscast.I just watched the CBS Evening News. Couric interviewed both veep candidates. As she asked questions of Biden, she sat back in awe, relaxed, eyes wide open, smiling, nodding in the affirmative, like she was receiving wisdom from an oracle. When she asked questions of Palin, she was leaning forward, squinting, skeptical, scowling, like she was interviewing Charles Manson.
Body language says a lot.
She asked Palin this question, after asking about Roe v. Wade: "What other Supreme Court decisions do you disagree with?"
What?! Do you have any idea how many Supreme Court decisions have been handed down in this nation's history?
Sarah Palin is not a legal scholar. She doesn't present herself as one. And she doesn't need to be one to hold the office she seeks. I'm quite certain a president or a vice president has a hard time walking down a hallway without tripping over half a dozen lawyers.
That question was put for no reason other than to get video of the woman hesitating while attempting to offer an answer to a ridiculous question.
I wonder how Katie would respond if I asked her if she agreed with the decision to drop the atomic bombs on Japan at the end of WWII, then followed up by asking her if she disagreed with any other strategic decisions made during that war.
Fire the alleged journalist. There is certainly precedent when it comes to CBS.
Remember Connie Chung? She came to Oklahoma City to cover the bombing. Her condescending questioning that implied Oklahomans couldn't tie there shoes, let alone handle a crisis, got her fired.
Remember Dan Rather? He jumped all over an opportunity to discredit Dubya Bush. Unfortunately for Rather, he didn't check his facts before he opened his mouth.
Little Katie is obviously trying to use her status as a "celebrity" to influence the outcome of a presidential election. That's not her job. Her job is to inform, period. Decision making is---supposedly---left to the viewers.
Oh and while you're about firing Couric, take David Letterman out, too. I've long been a Letterman fan, and I understand his job is to crack jokes, but he's crossed the line of late.
