Your Education Tax Dollars at Work

There is this guy. He works as a professor at a taxpayer-subsidized Oklahoma university. He had some things to say about why we should all vote for Obama.

Here is an excerpt:

Bogged down in two gruesome military occupations, the country faces a financial crisis. Our health care system is broken, unemployment is rising and wages are stagnant. Our country, after the Bush follies, has lost respect throughout the world.

Obama, whether he wins or not, has changed the political discourse so these issues, these very important issues, now matter. You matter, not just rich CEO’s who gamble away your retirement money without a second thought. Moreover, Obama’s personal story is a reflection of the American Dream and its diverse culture.

Well, for starters, wages for public educators haven't been stagnant, have they? Wages have been stagnant for many, but not for public educators that get raises granted by politicians that pay for those raises with money taken from everybody else.

The political discourse has been changed by Obama. Really? I mean nobody talked about wars, unemployment, health care or stagnant wages before Obama announced his candidacy? Get real, dude.

The "financial crisis" didn't show up until recently. So has Obama's candidacy done anything to change the discourse on that matter? I think not.

And then there's that comment about rich CEOs gambling "away your retirement money without a second thought." The thing about that is, Doc Hoc doesn't have to worry about it. His retirement income is guaranteed by you and your tax dollars---and by the tax dollars that will be paid by your children.

More tax money for public education means more money in the pockets of douche bags like Doc Hoc. Are you up for that?
