DTV
Well, it has finally happened. The big DTV day has come. For that I am grateful, because I was sick of hearing about it. But I'm also considerably pissed. We've made the great transition to the digital age. I'm sitting here looking at my brand new digital TV, and a brand new fully-capable antenna. I sit in the most populated area of the local TV stations' viewing area. And yet, I just can't quite get it all. Not at the same time, anyway.
For a number of weeks, I found it odd that I got no digital signal from KTUL---the local ABC affiliate. All the other stations were at least simulcasting, if they hadn't dropped analog altogether. Then the final day came, and I lost the KTUL analog signal. I lost KTUL completely.
I have moved my antenna a number of times, and done channel scans. I finally found a spot that would kinda sorta pick up KTUL, but the trade-off was the loss of other channels.
I would take this opportunity to thank the powers that be for finding yet another way to eff-up my life. You know, those "best and brightest" that get paid ridiculous amounts of money because their prowess exceeds that of a normal human.
I pray to God on regular occasions. I might just add a wee portion to my prayers. I might start praying to God that He grant me the opportunity to beat the livin' shit out of one---just one---of the supposed "best and brightest." I've had a belly-full of the sons-of-bitches.
