Afghanistan/Vietnam
I haven’t seen much in the way of reports about terrorist plots in the U.S. over the past few years. All of the sudden, I’m flooded with them. The timing, quite frankly, disturbs me.We have hit a point where a discussion is going on as to whether or not we should intensify our war effort in Afghanistan. Polls show diminishing public support for the war. Military leaders are pushing for more troops. The president flaps in the breeze. Meanwhile, we’ve got troops in Afghanistan now. Their lives are on the line.
Do we increase troop strength in Afghanistan or not? Pee or get off the pot, Mr. President.
For a number of years, Iraq stole the headlines. For many years, peacenik bloggers bashed Bush over war. Nowadays, the peacenik bloggers don’t have much to say. What the hell happened to you people? Oppose war; I have no problem with that. But don’t oppose war based on party affiliation. I mean so Bush was a Republican and war was bad; Obama is a Democrat so war is okay. Is that the deal?
Reopen your pie-holes, peaceniks.
Back on point, why would I suddenly hear about a bunch of terrorist plots at the same time a discussion is going on about more troops in Afghanistan?
This is all too “Gulf of Tonkin” for me. This is all too “Vietnamish” for me. Pull the troops out. Pull them out now.
