The New Biggest Game in Poke History
It seems it was about this time last year that I wrote of the biggest game in Oklahoma State football history. The Pokes were undefeated and headed to Austin for a game with the mighty Horns. There are a couple of differences this year, but here we go again. The Pokes’ loss to Houston has taken some of the shine off the game, but not much. If the Pokes can win this one, they will be in the hunt for a national title. They would, of course, in the event of a win, have to run the table, win the Big 12 title and get past the poll bias that slants everything in favor of the big names in the business. But a win over Texas would put them in the hunt.
The Pokes have made some noise in recent times. That’s great. But to be the best you have to beat the best. The Pokes have yet to prove they can run with the big dogs. I’d say it’s time.
C’mon up here ta Oklahoma, Texicans. C’mon up here and take your whoopin’. POKES RULE, DUDE! POKES RULE!!
