Columbus Won't Explore Arizona

I caught a brief mention on the news about Columbus, Ohio barring its employees from traveling to Arizona on business. Here's my question: What business do government employees in Ohio have to conduct in Arizona?

I suspect the answer to my question is, they need to soak up some sun and see the sights on the taxpayer dime.

KOTV says it will air a story tonight at 10 taking a look at taxpayer-provided travel for our staunch lawmakers. I suggest you watch it. But don't get locked in to the notion that taxpayer-provided travel is anywhere close to a localized problem. Taxpayer-provided travel runs through all levels of government, from the White House to your local school district.

We have, without a doubt, reached a point in this country where government has to start getting rid of unnecessary spending. Derailing the free-vacation gravy train for gubment employees would be a good place to start.
