Algore and El Tigre

Former Vice President Al Gore has been accused of sexual battery. According to his accuser, Al ordered up a massage and insisted on a happy ending. The alleged event took place in a private setting; there are no witnesses. At this point, it's a she-says-he-says deal.

Al is a prominent individual. Assuming he has done no wrong, one would think he would've had more sense. Billy Graham had a rule in his years of running his ministry: No man involved could be with a woman other than his wife unless someone else was in attendance.

Al has issued a flat denial. Isn't that how it always begins?

Bill Clinton issued a flat denial. John Edwards issued a flat denial. After they got pinned, they offered admissions. Then came the oh so genuine apologies.

Who knows? This girl might just be trying to make a buck in the modern world of instant celebrity. On the other hand, the initial complaint was apparently filed four years ago. The cops dumped the case back then, yet she is still in pursuit of Big Al.

If the girl is telling the truth, it's a classic case of a mouse versus an elephant. It's her word against the word of an ex-vice president, a Nobel Prize "winner" and the queen of the global warming convention. She has her work cut out for her.

We'll see if other women---or maybe even men---step to the fore in this episode.

I am intrigued by this case. The primary reason is the recent announcement of Al's split with Tipper. The official word is, there was no infidelity involved; the Gores simply "grew apart" and decided to divorce---after 40 years of marriage and buying a multimillion dollar mansion in California.

I didn't buy that announcement at the time, and I still don't buy it.

Meanwhile, reports say Tiger Woods has agreed to pay his future-ex a whopping $750 million. CBS had a lawyer on this morning. The lawyer said a big chunk of that settlement is hush money. Throw some gravy on the potatoes in exchange for silence.

The lawyer said that never works. The dirty little secrets come out eventually, regardless.

I saw an interview with Tiger aired last night. He referred to "mistakes" he made.

Tiger, get in the real world. If you pick the wrong club for a shot, that's a mistake. If you get married then have sex with a dozen different women over a period of years, that's not a mistake. Dude, that's a prolonged, premeditated, ongoing lifestyle choice.

Well said - and well, I think he did it. Who else would say anything about "release my chakra"! After hearing his poetry, it sounds just like him. Just another hot air bag. I hope this lady gets her day in court.
